Outernet Arts is a free public art initiative commissioning and exhibiting contemporary art in the largest digital exhibition space in Europe.

We work with Outernet Arts to produce all of their video and motion graphic content.

MIKA ROTTENBERG - SPAGHETTI BLOCKCHAIN

We’ve created short documentary promos for exhibitions like the one above. This example follows Mika Rottenberg’s exhibition at OA entitled ‘Spaghetti Blockchain’.

‘Spaghetti Blockchain is a collage of imagery whirlpooling through an over-stimulated thought-process. The viewer traverses through footage of colourful ‘satisfying’ ASMR performances, Siberian Tuvan throat singers in open fields, the CERN antimatter factory, a mechanical harvester on an all-American potato farm, cut with dizzying rotating hexagons.’

MARCO BRAMBILLA - HEAVEN’S GATE

Heaven's Gate presents the spectacle of the Hollywood dream factory as a panoramic video collage where we ascend through psychedelic landscapes of looping samples of iconic moments in cinematic history. The work at once celebrates and satirises pop culture, engulfing the viewer in a hyper-saturation of imagery almost impossible to sustain. You can see our film on NOWNESS here

HILMA AF KLINT - THE TEMPLE

Entitled ‘The Temple’, Acute Arts created a celebration of the artwork that lives within the spiritual world dreamt up by the Swedish artist and mystic, Hilma af Klint.

‘The Temple’ embodies Hilma af Klint’s dream of a spiral-shaped building to house her most important works. Re-imagined by Acute Arts in the form of an immersive experience, the exhibition shows the materialisation of her dream, revealing her artworks through the representation of a spiritual journey.

GABRIEL MASSAN - CONTINUITY FLAWS

Outernet Arts and Serpentine Arts Technologies launch an innovative partnership, unveiling a digital artwork by Brazilian artist Gabriel Massan that simulates and explores the precarious conditions of life in the global present.

BJARNE MELGAARD - MY TRIP 2023

Outernet Arts and BFI London Film Festival 2023 created a first-of-it’s-kind partnership, together commissioning and exhibiting a new digital artwork by Norwegian artist Bjarne Melgaard, entitled My Trip 2023 that takes the view on a journey to the farthest reaches of the web and explores the apathy that our technological environments produce.

SIMON DENNY - DOTCOM SEANCE

Outernet Arts inaugurated the exhibition programme on October 16th 2022 with Dotcom Séance, a new public project by artist Simon Denny. Dotcom Séance is an expansive digital installation reflecting core facets of Denny’s work, which explores technology’s sustained influence upon global cultural and political development, with particular focus on the tech industry. For this project, the artist has selected 21 dotcom era companies declared ‘dead’ in the wake of the ostensible dotcom crash in the early 2000s, with the purpose of “resurrecting” their existence as it stands in a contemporary setting.
